There were children as young as babies abandoned in the streets; the entire picture was that of one from hell!!

On a visit from the UK, Rhodina (our founder) could simply not see or take any more.

The very next day, Rhodina collected no less than 35 street children just in the area of Usa River Village (Tanzania), this area is not even a mile wide!!

It was horrific to find that many of these children needed urgent medical attention before they could even find energy to eat.

Rhodina provided medical care, food from her own pocket and her sister Gladness used her back garden as a meeting place for these children to have one meal a day.

Usa River Children Centre is now in good position with sufficient funds and all the basic needs, most of the donors are from Denmark.

When Rhodina and her English husband Steve visited Tanzania in Dec 2002 they decided to start this organisation to help orphans and disabled children in Tanzania.

They visited some of the orphanage centres and in different Government hospitals and found out that these children needed support and help.
